Well you must be all very curious about my Irelandtrip. I can tell you it was everything I hoped it would be.
an overwhelming green country with ancient and historic places to visit and to feel, friendly people and cozy pubs ;-)
My heart and head are full of Ireland and I could probable write a small book about our adventures, but first of all I will show you some pictures.
Our first visit was the Cliffs of moher. Wow, they just took my breath away. It was amazing to stand on the cliffs and feel the wind. you could almost feel the wonder of nature speaking to you. On the cliffs you could see the aran islands ( see last picture )
Our first B&B was not far from the cliffs, and at the back of the house we had a wonderful view over the islands. It made my island dreams come alive and I got very excited about our visit on monday.
This picture is taken at sunset at the back of our b&b overlooking the Aran islands. In daylicht you could see the little white houses; it was almost as you could reach your hand and touch them. Amazing
An Irish dinner ofcourse, Jodi got fish and chips and I got stuffed chicken, yummy.
On sunday we got the opportunity to take a taxitour around the Burren. Our guide was a lovely and friendly man, who knew everybody( really that was amazing) he took us to some lovely spots
The centre of the burren in kilfenora, where we found some nice celtic crosses.
Caherconnel fort which was a home of 25 people thousands of years ago. Inside the fort it was very quiet and we couldn't feel any wind, it was almost as time stood still and we could feel the history. At the back of the fort there is a very old elderberry tree ( vlierbessen boom ) wich is approx. 100 years or older. I've never seen such a hugh elderberry tree in my live. ( in the area i live in belgium we see them a lot but they are usually just big bushes.
the blossoms were already forming.
we went further to see the dolmen and the great limestonerocks of the burren.
Pedestrians you don't see so often..... Cows by the way, they can pass you any moment, any where :-)
see your tomorrow ::part 2::
